A Clare activist has accused the government of making the disabled community an “afterthought”.
It follows the publication of a new report by the Ombudsman, which says it’s “shameful” people with disabilities are continuing to be denied access to transport supports.

2022 saw the highest number of complaints ever received by the ombudsman, with 4,808 lodged nationwide and 85 in Clare alone.
Member of the Clare Leader Forum, Corofin native, Dermot Hayes says the disabled community is suffering due to lack of access to public transport.
