A Clare architect has criticised the Government’s new house design guidelines, saying they reduce it to a numbers game.
The Sustainable Residential Development and Compact Settlements Guidelines are aimed at creating more attractive, liveable, well-designed, high quality urban spaces.
It’s hoped they will also provide a broader range of housing options to meet the needs of a growing population.

But Ogonnolloe-based architect Gary Miley, who’s also Chair of the Clare Social Democrats has described it as a particularly weak document, that won’t be of much use outside the major cities, in areas like Ennis.
