A Clare father whose son suffered life changing injuries following a sudden collapse in school this year, is aiming to raise funds to provide for his future care.
Caused by a rare condition called Arteriovenous Malformation, 12 year-old Cillian O’Brien sustained a catastrophic brain bleed, and was rushed to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
Cillian’s acquired brain injury has affected his speech to the point where he is currently non-verbal, his vision has been compromised and he is physically unable to support himself.
An Idonate campaign with a target of €300,000 has been set up that will aim to provide accessible and future proofed living space at the family home.
His father Owen O’Brien says they need all the support they can get.
