A Camino of Hope will bring together faith, history and community over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The 10km walk will travel from the centre of Scarriff to the historic mass rock at Cappabane in the Slieve Aughty mountains, a site that reflects the resilience of local people who kept their faith during the Penal Laws.
The event, which takes place on August 2nd at 11.45 is part of the Scariff Harbour Festival and grew out of a listening exercise organised by the pastoral council, which explored the challenges people are facing in their lives today.
Bishop of Killaloe, Fintan Monahan, who’s leading the walk says hope will be at the heart of the event.
