Construction could soon begin on over 120 new homes in Ennis.
It follows successful appeals from developers for two separate projects on the outskirts of the town.
Custy Construction Ltd & John Talty Construction Ltd first applied for permission all the way back in December 2024 to build 55 homes across the townlands of Ballymaley and Ballycorey.
There were several bumps in the road thereafter, with further information requests and appeals coming their way over wastewater capacity concerns.
The development can now proceed however after An Coimisúin Pleanála upheld Clare County Council’s decision to grant permission this week.
The project is due to involve 16 four-bed homes and 39 three-bed houses, with up to ten of these becoming social or affordable housing.
Separately, the newly formed appeals commission has also approved plans for 74 homes in Toberteascáin.
The estate is set to be delivered by Datcha Construction LTD over a 2.3 hectare site and will include up to 15 social or affordable homes.
