It’s claimed survivors of sexual assault in Clare and across the MidWest have less supports available to them than the rest of the country.
It comes amid calls for a sexual assault trauma unit to be established in the region, which would allow forensically collected evidence to be stored for up to a year.

Rape Crisis MidWest, meanwhile, currently has 80 people on its waiting list for counselling support.
Sinn Féin TD Maurice Quinlivan says the need for such a service is urgent.
