Broadford Set To Benefit From €50m Wastewater Infrastructure Plan

Broadford is set to become one of the first villages in the country to benefit from a 50 million euro plan aimed at providing essential sewage infrastructure for rural villages.

The local community in the East Clare village has been campaigning for around four decades for adequate waste-water infrastructure, with lands acquired around 18 years ago and the design phases subsequently completed.

Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage Darragh O’Brien has today announced a new scheme, under the National Development Plan, which will now open for applications from local authorities.

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe believes other villages in Clare will also benefit.
