One of Clare’s most populated villages could soon see a significant boost to its housing stock.
Ahaclare Developments Limited is looking to build almost 40 homes on the outskirts of Sixmilebridge.
Maughan and Associates has submitted a planning application on behalf of Ahaclare Developments for 38 semi-detached houses on the southern fringe of Sixmilebridge between the R471 and Rossmanagher Road.
The development would consist of 20 three-bed units and 18 four-bed dwellings while it would also require connection to public utilities as well as ancillary site development works.
It’s stated that energy efficient renewable heat sources would be used such as air-to-water heat pumps and PV solar panels.
To protect biodiversity and promote amenity, existing trees and hedegrows would be retained while large open green spaces would be created.
Each house would also be provided with two on-site parking spaces overlooked by houses, pedestrians and traffic.
Submissions in relation to the development must be in by June 5th and a decision must be reached by Clare County Council by June 26th.
The development would be located on lands previously granted planning permission under two separate planning applications in January 2023 and December 2024, respectively.
