127 Admitted Patients On Trolleys At UHL Today

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is almost double that of any other facility in the country.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 127 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning.

Sligo University Hospital was the second busiest hospital, with 65 patients on trolleys, while at Galway University Hospital the figure was 62.

Overall 734 patients were left waiting for beds at Irish hospitals today, according to the latest analysis from the INMO.
