Over 12,000 patients nationwide have been treated on trolleys in hospitals across the country this month, with University Hospital Limerick topping that list.
The INMO’s monthly report reveals that, since January 1st, some 1,215 people were left on trolleys at the region’s main hospital.

This is over 100 more than the second busiest facility, Cork University Hospital, and means UHL accounts for 10% of all of the overcrowding figures for January.
Earlier this month, a record-breaking 92 patients were left on trolleys at UHL on a single day; today, that figure sits at 56.
