120 Admitted Patients On Trolleys At UHL – INMO

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has spiralled once again.

The latest analysis from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 120 admitted patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 53 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 69 more than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital and 80 more than Galway University Hospital, which was the third-busiest facility in the country today.

Overall, 541 admitted patients were waiting on trolleys or chairs at Irish hospitals today, according to the INMO figures.
