Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is more than double that of the next busiest facility today.
The latest Trolley Watch figures from the INMO show 117 admitted patients were on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, including 48 in the Emergency Department.

That’s 60 more than at Galway University Hospital and 64 more than at Sligo University Hospital.
The INMO figures also show that 692 patients were waiting for beds in hospitals across the country today.
