An Ennis-based retail lobby group claims businesses can forecast an upturn in spending now General Election 2024 is in the rear-view mirror.
Retail Excellence Ireland research found consumers were less likely to spend in periods of election due to fears arising from government uncertainty.

The Black Friday weekend, did however, provide a boost for local retailers towards the end of November following a slow start to the month.
CEO and owner of Willow in Ennis, Jean McCabe, says business can now expect a ramp up in consumer activity in the run up to Christmas.
