TUS Clare SHC Semi Final: Kilmaley 0-25 Scariff 1-11
Kilmaley will play on Clare club hurling’s biggest day for the first time in 22 years.
A solid showing against Scariff saw Brian Culbert’s side take a deserved victory, with Tom O’Rourke contributing 0-11 for his side, with all bar one coming from placed balls.
Conor Cleary led the line up front and was a constant target for direct deliveries, while once again, their defensive unit stayed soild throughout.
Scariff did get in for an early goal as Mark Rodgers sent Rory Ryan clear, but once Kilmaley asserted control in the final quarter, they were always keeping a handle on the scoreline.
The bench once again made a telling impact with 0-3 from play coming from Eanna McMahon, Eoin Enright and Colm Killeen to see out the victory.
It will now either be a repeat of the 1985 decider against Eire Óg, or a unique final pairing with Inagh-Kilnamona.
Elsewhere today, Tubber overcame Ruan to advance to the semi finals of the TUS Premier Intermediate championship while Corofin beat Bodyke after extra time.
Smith O’Brien’s retained their Premier Intermediate status by beating Sixmilebridge and relegating them to the third tier.
