Over two tonnes of litter was removed from Clare’s beaches during this year’s Big Beach Clean.
The event marks the end of the bathing season, with 370 volunteers collecting 2.2 tonnes of waste in this county alone.

Nationwide, 500 clean-ups took place which consisted of close to 9,700 volunteers removing 58 tonnes from Ireland’s coasts.
An Taisce Clean Coasts Manager, Bronagh Moore, says it’s vital to keep the county’s beaches pristine due to their value to the tourism industry.
