Countdown to 5th Annual Radio Auction supporting St Clare’s School

Firmly established as a Clare annual community fundraiser the Ennis Lions Club Radio Auction, in partnership with Clare FM, is back for the 5th year.

Going live next Monday it’s hell for leather to secure as many goods as possible to tickle the wallets of bidders around the county and beyond.

Businesses, sports clubs, leisure centres and professionals have donated vouchers, services, products and entertainment giving auction-goers the opportunity to grab a bargain and support a local cause at the same time.

Lions Club President Susan Ward declared ‘It’s a pleasure to be part of this event – supporting St Clare’s School for the second year just feels right. The students and their families need our community support, our care and our funding to ensure that every child can enjoy a playground to its fullest extent. In our 50th anniversary year it is especially fitting that we are championing those who most need our service’ .

Playgrounds are not just for fun at St Clare’s, they are part of the educational process for children who struggle to make sense of everyday life. A playground is fundamental to special needs education because it provides an essential environment where physical therapy, social interaction, and sensory learning happen naturally. And, of course, its fun! The playground being developed on the Gort Road complex will have a poured rubber surface to ensure the safety of the children, along with several accessible pieces of equipment.

Speaking about the range of items in the auction project leader David Goodstein enthused ‘Yet again we have been inundated with goods from €10 to over €1000 in value. We know everything will sell so its up to everybody out there to register and bid to get their favoured items. We particularly enjoy the partnership with Clare FM who have hosted this event for 4 years and we owe them huge thanks for helping us raise over €100,000 so far for local projects!’
