Clare Govt TD Insists Budget 2027 Will Reduce Home Heating Bills

A Clare Government TD insists Budget 2027 will ensure people can heat their homes in the Winter months long into the future.

The price of a 1,000 litres of home heating oil in Clare has increased by more than 32% since June alone and is now commanding an average price of €1,600.

As part of measures introduced today, carbon tax on Kerosene will be scrapped until at least 2029.

Clare Fine Gael Deputy Joe Cooney believes this will significantly help people in need.

The Clare branch of the Social Democrats meanwhile is calling on the Government to move towards a publicly funded childcare model.

Ennis based member Hilary Tonge believes it would be far more effective and efficient than subsidies.
