14:25- ARTS: 34.4m for the basic income for the arts scheme

14:24- SPORT: Four million to league of Ireland academies. One million euro increase to the Gaelic Players Association. One million for the hurling and camogie academy initiative. 22 million euro for hosting the 2027 Ryder Cup and the 2028 Euros.

14:23-Shared Island: Two hundred million for the narrow water bridge and new teaching building at the University of Ulster.

14:21-FOREIGN AFFAIRS: 855 million euro for international cooperation including Irish aid trade diversification programmes.

14:20-DEFENCE: 850 new permanent defence force members new helicopters and military radar maritime surveillance and cyber security.

14:19-GUARDS: 1,000 extra gardai to be recruited.

14:17-HEALTH: Extra €1.6bn for the health budget in current expenditure. Increase in hse pay. Free contraception up to age 37. Increased CAMHS funding. €1.8m home support hours extra.

14:16-Student fees: 150 euro reduction in the student contribution fee. 4.5 per cent increase in SUSI maintenance grant.

14:14-SNA: 2,339 additional SNAs next year. 1,353 extra teachers.

14:13- EDUCATION: Increase in capitation grants for schools of 17 million. Two million extra for the DEIS plus programme.

14:12-DISABILITY: 489 extra residential care packages, 191,000 extra hours of respite.

14:11-CHILDCARE: Maximum childcare fees being reduced to 550 euro a month up to senior infants.

14:10- WORKING FAMILY: Working family payment increasing by 30 euro.

14:09- Energy: Fuel allowance increasing by 5 euro. Income threshold for single pensioners from 534 to 641 euro per week. Living alone increasing by 3 euro a week.

14:07-SOCIAL PROTECTION: €30.9 billion to social protection. Ten euro increase in social welfare rates including pensions new 500 euro cost of disability payment carers income disregard increasing to €1,150 for a single person.

14:06- HOUSING: €9.4BN budget for housing, 11,250 new build social homes. thousands of affordable homes €2.2BN for HAP and other rent supports.

14:05- UISCE: €2.3BN for UISCE Eireann next year. Boost sustainability of water supply and home building.

14:04-WASTE: €155M to go towards the circular economy including 47m for tackling waste contamination sites

14:03- SEAI: Boiler scrappage scheme and more grants for free retrofitting announced

14:02- Metrolink: €6 bl being allocated over 2027 to 2030 to deliver Metrolink.

14:00- Disability: A new vehicle adaption scheme for those with mobility needs to be created.

13:58- €23.3 Bl to be spent on capital next year- up one on this year.

13:55- State to develop a new public spending efficiency taskforce.

13:43- Bank levy extended for another year with a target yield of €200 million

13:41- €1 increase on excise to a pack of 20 cigarettes. Pro rata increase to tobacco products. E-liquid products rising by 20 cents per milliliter.

13:39- Extending the wear and tear allowance for farm safety equipment to 31 December 2029

13:37- R&D: A number of changes to the R&D programmes to include greater money for subcontracting to third level, changes to clinical trials, increasing payment thresholds.

13:36-  ISIF: The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund is launching a 1 billion euro investment programme to create the next generation of large Irish companies.

13:35- Standard rate of capital gains tax to be reduced from 33 to 31 per cent.

13:34- €15m for rural and local pubs in a scheme to be developed in the coming weeks.

13:33- Increase in the annual threshold for tax relief on the donation of heritage items to Irish national collections from 8 to 12 million

13:32- Derelict property tax on the way with a register to be published on September 1st 2027 and a rate of 7 per cent.

13:31- Help to Buy scheme amount up from €30k to €35k.

13:30- Renters tax credit to increase by €150 to €1,150.

13:29- Rent a room income relief increased by €2k to €16k. That will also include ‘detached auxiliary dwellings’ of 32-45 square metres. (Sheds and cabins)

13:28- Childminder tax relief increased by €5k to €20k.

13:27- Microgeneration income tax disregard increasing by 200 to €600 per year for people who sell energy back to the grid.

13:26- VRT relief on electric vehicles extended until 31st December 2028. VRT rates on high polluting cars in band 3 to 20 increasing by 1%.

13:25- EIRGRID: €2bn to be invested in Eirgrid.

13:23- Excise duty rates on petrol and diesel to remain reduced until 28th February 2027. Will be placed back on in four phases after that up to June 30th 2027. NORA levy cut extension until 31st December 2026. Diesel rebate scheme extended until 31/12/26.

13:22- Tax on kerosene and gas for carbon to be reduced for 48.50 per tonne for the lifetime of the Government

13:21- Taxes on investment in offshore funds to drop from 38 to 35 per cent

13:20- State investment account will open July 1 2027. No exit taxes

13:18- New investment scheme will have a tax free threshold of €50k. A 1% contribution tax on the value above €50k. Max contribution of 12k per annum.

13:16- Inheritance tax: Group A from €400K to €420K, Group B from €40K to €44K, Group C from € 20K to €22K

13:15- USC: Band 3 entry point raised by €1600

13:13– Income Tax: €2,500 rise in higher rate. Tax credits up €125. Carer tax credit up €100

13:11- €1 billion to be invested into the Future Ireland fund.

13:08- Opening his Budget statement, Tanaiste and Finance Minister Simon Harris says it’s about setting Ireland on a path forward.

12:50– The Dáil chamber is at capacity for the annual Budget day where Finance Minister Simon Harris will make his address in the coming moments.

So who are the winners and losers?

Well middle class workers are likely to be better off to the tune of 750 euro each through tax changes – while the Government is arguing changes to the minimum wage and USC bands mean someone earning 25k will be better off to the tune of 1,200 euro a year – the most of any group.

People renting out a room will now be allowed to charge 16k tax free rather than 14k

We’ll know in the next two hours if the Ministers have held back any surprises.
