On Wednesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Maureen Kilduff and Eimear McCarthy who are involved in the running of the concertina cruinniú event held in Miltown Malbay along with Manus Maguire who is a fiddle player and a member of Buttons and Bows. The trio discussed the Concertina Cruinniú event which will take place for the 11th time this weekend in Miltown Malbay. Martina spoke about her delight with the progress of the event and mentioned the increase of tutors that will feature this year due to a high level of demand. She referred to the concertina classes that will take place led by Noel Hill who will be the main tutor. Eimear highlighted the various events that will take place throughout the weekend. She mentioned the big concert that will take place on Saturday night featuring many musicians throughout the county. Manus discussed the importance of the event to promote the concertina in Clare and described how enjoyable the event has been when he has previously been in attendance.
