New Home Completions In Clare Soar By Almost 30%

The number of new homes completed in Clare in the first three months of this year is up almost 30%.

New CSO figures show Clare has bucked the national trend with construction concluding on nearly 30 more dwellings in this county between January and March than the same period last year.

129 homes were completed in Clare in the first quarter of 2024.

Of these, 78 were scheme houses, which is the fourth-highest number of such dwellings built in this county in a given quarter since records began.

50 were single houses while the remaining one was an apartment.

It represents a rise of 26% on the same period in 2023 when just 102 homes were built.

Of those finished between January and March, 45 were in the Killaloe region, 37 were in Ennis, 25 were in Shannon, 11 were in Kilrush and a further 11 were in Ennistymon.

Nationally, 5,841 new homes were completed in the opening three months of this year which indicates a fall of over 12% on the same period last year.

Standing at 1,603, apartment completions for this period are also down almost 33% nationwide.
