Katie Naughton is from Newquay in North Clare.
She was educated locally and in Gort but despite trying a few courses in college, didn’t find anything that she liked.
She tried beauty therapy, sports injury massage and primary school teaching but developed an interest in health and safety while she covered maternity leave for a construction firm in Kilmihil.
She decided to pursue that interest health and safety services and so the first of her two businesses was born.
She also operates a coffee truck on the Flaggy Shore.
While the idea for Scald Coffee came initially, it was her safety services business which got off the ground first.
