Morning Focus – Friday May 8th 2015

On today's edition of Morning Focus with John Cooke

With the Referendum on Same Sex Marriage just two weeks away, we've been hearing arguments from the Yes and No sides and the views of various groups and people on the issue.Yesterday we heard the Catholic Church in Clare calling for a No Vote as Killaloe Diocesan Spokesman Fr Brendan Quinlivan argued that changing the laws on marriage will undermine families and the fundamental building block of our society. Today – we heard from Bernard Lynch – an Ennis man who was ordained as a Catholic Priest and still works in ministry to the Lesbian and Gay Community in London  – he's also proud to have a husband, and is hoping for a Yes vote in the referendum on May 22nd. On his most recent visit home to Ennis, John Cooke asked Bernàrd about his upbringing in County Clare in the 1950's and whether he knew he was Gay at that stage of his life.
