Why Are Many Sceptic Tanks Failing Inspections?

More than a quarter of septic tanks inspected last year were found to be a risk to human health or the environment.

Councils across the country tested 1,160 systems in 2019 – and 51% failed.

In Clare, 41 inspections were carried out last year, and 59% of those tanks failed to meet minimum standards.
