As part of Shannon Group’s strategy, a large 29,708 square foot distribution facility building is to be constructed, including single-storey office space ‘ready for occupation’, site development and car parking works.

The construction cost budget for the proposed upgrade is not being provided at this time but it’s expected that construction will get underway in the first quarter of 2022.

A target date of May this year has been set for appointing the Lead Designer – Architect, with a view to preparing and submitting the necessary applications for statutory consent by July 2021.

The detailed design stage will commence once the planning application is submitted to Clare County Council and it’s envisaged this will run concurrently with the statutory planning period, which is to conclude by September 2021.

Parties looking to tender for the project have until April 24th to do so.

A spokesperson for Shannon Group says the new project is part of their overall investment strategy for the airport and property portfolio.
