Calls For Financial Support For Heritage Sites

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD insists that financial support will be provided to help keep heritage sites open in the county.

Shannon Group has made a submission to the Government seeking funding for its site, particularly Bunratty and King John’s castles, which under current plans are due to close in August.

If follows calls for Clare County Council or the OPW to take over responsibility for the sites, in an effort to keep the open year-round.
