Clare senior hurling captain Tony Kelly will miss this Sunday’s National Hurling League meeting with Kilkenny in Cusack Park.
The GAA decided tonight (Thursday) to uphold the Ballyea man’s red card he picked up last Saturday early in the second half against Tipperary.
Kelly was sent off my referee Colm Lyons for an alleged high challenge on full back Padraic Maher.
The decision means he will serve a one match suspension missing the Kilkenny game but will be available to face Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh on February 16th.
