Clooney/Quin have progressed to the Clare Senior Hurling Championship semi-finals with victory over Eire Óg this afternoon.
The townies fell behind at the start but kept Fergal O’Loughlin’s side under pressure throughout the game, with a late goal ensuring victory for Clooney/Quin on a 3-14 to 2-12 score.
Ronan O’Donnell’s two second half goals were crucial for the side, as were Peter Duggan’s nine points for the side. Ryan Taylor also netted for Clooney/Quin.
Also in action on Saturday is Cratloe and Sixmilebridge at 4.15, and Newmarket and Ballyea at 6pm.
