Vicky Phelan on Dying with Dignity Bill

The Dying with Dignity Bill has passed the first stage in the Dáil. The bill, which was proposed by People Before Profit TD, Gino Kenny, advocates for people with terminal illnesses to be given the right to choose when they end their life. Cervical cancer campaigner Vicky Phelan has publicly supported the bill and is asking that those with terminal illnesses be allowed to die peacefully, saying that palliative care doesn’t always work.

She spoke with Gavin Grace on Thursday’s Morning Focus.
