On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Colm Liddy who is a local historian and author. On this week’s edition of townlands in focus, Colm discussed the townlands of Finavarra and Rine which are situated at the most northern point of the county overlooking Galway Bay. He spoke about the Flaggy Shore which is located in these townlands which is one of the wonders of nature. He made reference to when Napoleon was in charge and the possible invasion of the area by the French. The area was also a major source of lobsters to Britain in the 1870s.
