A remarkable new book celebrating life, music and community in West Clare in the 1970s and 1980s has just been officially launched.
Halcyon Day is a collection of seven short stories by 86-year-old author Jane S. Flynn, who has lived in West Clare since arriving from America in the late 1970s.

The book draws on Jane’s experiences of life on the Wild Atlantic coast, her immersion in local culture and the music scene, and her unique eye for the humour and characters around her.
Joining Alan Morrissey to tell us more about the book and the journey to getting it published was Jane’s daughter, Jane Meehan, who helped organise the printing of the collection.
