Plans are being put in place to provide water to Kildysart and Coolmeen until Friday.
The HSE says water is not currently fit for consumption on the supplies which provides water for 1,500 people.
Water tankers will be in place until 6.30 this Wednesday evening at the Secondary School, Kildysart and the Hilltop Bar, Coolmeen.
They'll also be in place at the same locations on Thursday and Friday.
Kildysart resident and former Councillor Oliver Garry says the water restriction is a big blow for businesses, as they prepare for an annual festival and agricultural show.

The HSE, in conjunction with Irish Water and Clare County Council, have advised that the public drinking water alert introduced in Kildysart yesterday (Tuesday) will remain in place until further notice.
Customers are being advised, as a precautionary measure, not to drink the water provided by the Kildysart Public Water Supply due to water discolouration caused by increased manganese levels in the supply.
Approximately 1500 customers of the Kildysart Public Water Supply and the Coolmeen Group Water Supply are affected by the water notice.
Water is being provided via tankers at Kildysart Secondary School and outside the Hilltop Bar in Coolmeen up to 6.30pm this evening (Wednesday). Water tankers will be located at Kildysart Secondary School from 10am to 11am and 6pm to 7pm on Thursday and Friday, and at the Hilltop Bar in Coolmeen from 12 noon to 1pm and 8pm to 9pm on Thursday and Friday.
All users on the Kildysart Public Water Supply and the Coolmeen Group Water Supply are being advised not to use tap water until further notice except for the flushing of toilets, flushing of internal house plumbing systems, dishwashing and personal hygiene. Ice cubes in fridges and freezers should be discarded.
Irish Water and Clare County Council is continuing to liaise with the Health Service Executive with a view to lifting drinking water restrictions as soon as practicable. Customers are requested to advise Irish Water or Clare County Council of elderly or disabled people who may require special assistance.
