UHL Consultant Says Region Is More Prepared For Possible Second Wave Of COVID-19

A consultant in intensive care at the region’s main hospital says the Midwest is more prepared for a second wave of COVID 19 should it arrive.

259 cases of the virus have been confirmed in this region in the last 14 days – 33 of these in Clare.

It comes as the National Public Health Emergency Team says local lockdown’s not the first course of action for the five counties being monitored closely by public health officials – which include Limerick and Tipperary.
