The region’s main hospital is the most overcrowded in the country once again today.
The latest figures from the INMO show 43 people were waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 19 of those in the emergency department.

It comes on a week when high volumes of patients have been attending the Dooradoyle facility, many of them with serious illnesses.
The UL Hospitals Group has appealed to patients to attend their GP or out of hours GP service or to utilise the Injuries unit where possible and to leave the ED for emergencies only.
