The UL Hospitals Group has reported a significant increase in the number of people attending the region’s main Emergency Department last year.
The Group’s Annual Report outlines a total of nearly 64,500 ED attendances in 2016, an increase of over 5% on the previous year.

An additional 24,500 people attended the region’s Local Injury Units, though here growth was smaller at 2.5%.
8,900 people were seen at the Emergency Department in Ennis General last year.
