The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is beginnging to climb once again.
The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 89 patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 38 of those on trolleys in the emergency department.

The overall figure is more than 30 more than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital, with 46 on trolleys at Galway University Hospital.
It comes on a day when 502 patients in total were waiting for beds at hospitals across the country this morning.
