The case against Dr. Sachs is due before the New York Supreme Court later today.

Killaloe woman Kay Creegan, travelled to New York for her operation after reading a newspaper article on Dr Sach’s clinic, she kept the trip a secret from her husband Liam and two sons Eogan and Brian, as a surprise

However following the procedure the 42 year old suffered a heart attack and died three days later in St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital.

Shortly after her death, it emerged Dr Sachs had been involved in more than 30 malpractice cases since 1995.

Last March he was struck off the register of the New York State Board for professional misconduct.

The legal action against Dr Sachs by Ms Creegan’s family was due to come before the New York Supreme Court late last year but Pre-trial discussions were adjourned until today when a trial date is expected to be set.

Dr Sachs denies plastic surgery was connected to Ms Creegan’s death despite an autopsy report suggesting it was a contributing factor.
