Clare is bracing for a very wet and windy start to the Bank Holiday weekend.
Storm Austen is set to bring heavy rain and strong winds tonight, with a status Yellow wind and rain warning for Munster and Leinster coming into force at 7pm, and orange warnings to follow overnight for six southern and eastern counties.
Met Éireann is warning of difficult travelling conditions, localised flooding, displaced debris and loose objects, as well as fallen trees and branches.
Tullycrine-based forecaster Michelle Dillon says Clare will escape the bunt of the storm tonight, but conditions are set to deteriorate here over the weekend and into next week as a second storm, Storm Boelo, tracks by Ireland.
