Tourism Operators Call For Clarity On International Travel Ahead Of Cabinet Decision

Tourism operators in Clare are calling for clarity from government about when international travel will be permitted through Shannon and other airports.

A memo on the planned easing of travel restrictions was due to go before Cabinet Ministers this morning, but this has now been postponed and will be considered again nearer to June.

Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has warned he doesn’t expect travel to return until August at the earliest, despite Ireland committing to signing up to the EU’s Green Travel Cert scheme which is due to be announced in the latter part of June.
