A family of three have been rescued from their boat on Lough Derg.

The skipper raised the alarm just after 7 o'clock last evening when the 36 foot cruiser suffered engine failure just off Hare Island near the lake's East Clare shoreline.
Valentia Coastguard, assisted by Lough Derg RNLI launched a rescue operation and brought all three family members to safety.
The vessel was towed to Dromineer Harbour, north of Nenagh.
