Three Flights Divert To Shannon Over Fog At Ireland West Airport

Three flights have diverted to Shannon Airport due to fog-related low visibility conditions in Knock this week.

The flights from Edinburgh, Liverpool and Stansted, which were scheduled to operate into Ireland West Airport, landed safely at the Clare airport yesterday morning.

Passengers remained on board during the temporary stopover, and once weather conditions improved and fog lifted at Ireland West Airport, each flight was able to depart Shannon and continue its journey.

Shannon Airport operational teams were on hand to facilitate the diversions and ensure aircraft were able to resume operations with minimal delay.

The Shannon Airport Group says it remains committed to supporting airlines and airport partners when adverse weather impacts normal operations and wishes all passengers safe onward travel.
