Around 1,400 homes in Clare are without power this lunchtime as Storm Dennis passes by Ireland.
The ESB is reporting issues in Corofin, Ruan, O’Callaghans Mills, New Quay, and near to Kilkee – in most instances, power is expected to return this afternoon.
Gardaí have been alerted to a potentially unsafe structure in the Kilmaley area, and are attending the scene amid concerns that it could cause issues on an adjacent road.
Otherwise, no other issues are reported, but motorists are advised to drive with extreme caution.
A status orange wind warning is in place for Clare and eight other western counties until 10 pm tonight.
A gust of 115 kilometres per hour was recorded at Shannon Airport this morning.
As of now (12:40 p.m.) this afternoon’s Allianz Hurling League game between Clare and Laois in Ennis is still scheduled to go ahead.
