The number of patients on trolleys at the region’s main hospital has spiked once again.
Latest figures from the INMO show that there are 54 people awaiting admission at University Hospital Limerick today – 40 of those in the emergency department.

It means the Dooradoyle facility is once again the busiest in the country on a day when almost 550 patients are without a bed in Irish hospitals.
It’s almost 20 more than the next busiest hospital – St Luke’s in Kilkenny.
