Six Clare Projects To Receive More Then €70K In Heritage Funding

Six community heritage projects in Clare are to receive a funding boost celebrating heritage at a local level.

A combined €72,486 in Government funding has been granted for projects in this county under the Heritage Council’s Community Heritage Grant Scheme

The scheme is an annual initiative that supports community groups, voluntary organisations and non-governmental organisations to protect and share heritage, enabling them to continue existing projects or to develop new initiatives that enhance community engagement.

Scariff Show, Carrigaholt Parish, Doolin Folklore Project, Dúchas na Sionna (Hastings Farmhouse), Wild Earth Clare, and Lough Grainey Nature Sanctuary will all benefit from the funding.

The Scariff Show’s “Eight Decades of the Scariff Show: Oral and Community Heritage Project,” which has been awarded €24,540

Carrigaholt Parish’s “Restoration of Two stained Glass windows in Doonaha Church,” which has been awarded €22,130

The Doolin Folklore Project’s “Leabhar Stiofáin: Reviving Doolin’s Storytelling Heritage – Bilingual Storytelling Workshops, Storyteller Event & Free Public Podcast Archive,” which has been awarded €5,690

Dúchas na Sionna (Hastings Farmhouse) CLG’s “Hastings Farmhouse Restoration – Video of work in progress,” which has been awarded €7,000

Wild Earth Clare’s “Wild Earth Clare – Nature Immersion Youth Project,” which has been awarded €6,509

Lough Grainey Nature Sanctuary’s “Lough Grainey Nature Sanctuary: Community Connection and the Natural Heritage of the Grainey Valley,” which has been awarded €6,617.
