A young North Clare girl has been honoured for her quick action in saving the life of an elderly man at sea.
This year’s Garda Youth Awards has celebrated an impressive cross-section of young people and youth-led initiatives across County Clare.

8 awards were presented to winners aged from 13 to 19 years for their achievements in lifesaving, volunteering, fundraising and social and environmental campaigns.
Caoimhe Moroney from Kilfenora won the Individual Achievement Award for her rescue of an elderly man at Bishops Quarter beach and is urging young people to learn lifesaving water safety skills.
