SIPTU Calls On Council CEO To Come To Talks Table To Resolve Bunratty Dispute

SIPTU is calling on the new CEO of Clare County Council to engage in meaningful talks aimed at resolving a dispute over redundancy terms for Shannon Heritage workers and the relocation of the Shared Services Department.

The Trade Union is to ballot its members for industrial action at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park amid claims of a series of breaches of long-standing collective agreements by Shannon Heritage DAC’s interim management.

The local authority says the company acknowledges concerns raised in relation to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and remains committed to constructive and respectful engagement with all stakeholders, while it’s open to continuing discussions to address the matters raised.

SIPTU Organiser Rachel Keane says, however, that confirmation of the company’s stance isn’t engagement.
