It’s claimed Clare Council Council would love to see the development of a streetscape for Shannon town centre but they’re at the behest of its private owners.
There has been considerable focus on the town in recent months, with a question mark now over the development of a major civic centre there after the group behind it shelved plans because of a lack of funding.
The development of a proper street in Shannon has also been a sticking point for many there, who feel the town is lacking a proper centre.
