A Clare insurance company is advising homeowners to urgently review their policies and prepare their properties ahead of the onset of winter storms.
It follows a warning from Met Éireann that this year’s ‘Super El Niño’ could bring intensive rainfall and stronger winds to Ireland in the next few months.

Last week, temperatures at the heart of the phenomenon exceeded the previous record that was seen in 2015, several months before El Niño’ is expected to reach its peak.
Head of Claims at Campion Insurance in Ennis, Stephen McKenna, says people often leave it too late to prepare their homes or businesses for extreme weather events.
