Shannon Airport has received a major boost, after being recognised as the Airport of the Year at a prestigious international awards ceremony.
It’s the airport’s third year being chosen as winner of the accolade, which has been presented by the European Regions Airline Association, at a ceremony in Edinburgh.
The Airport of the Year Award aims to recognise airports which have had a positive impact on intra-European air transport operations and which recognise the importance of airline-airport partnerships.
It comes on a day when new figures from the IAA show a 16% boost in commercial flights at Shannon in September.
Managing Director, Andrew Murphy has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that it’s onwards and upwards from here.
