Over 2.3 million passengers passed through the gates of Shannon Airport in 2025, indicating a 9% year-on-year rise and a surge of 34% compared to pre-pandemic levels.

European traffic was up 13% while demand for its UK services grew by 8%, with Heathrow passengers volumes hitting an 18-year high.

The airport’s turnover increased by 7% to €78.4 million while its profit stood at €30.5 million before tax.

The group invested over €20 million in 2025, bringing its total investment over the past decade to almost €200 million, with a further €40 million planned this year.

Among its upcoming projects are upgrades to the airport’s immigration area and baggage hall, enhancements to taxiway infrastructure, and a thermal, energy-efficient facelift to the outside of the terminal building.

The report states that the Shannon Airport Business Park “continued to perform strongly”, with over 300 companies calling it home, supporting roughly 10,000 employees.

When it came to sustainability, the group says it met its 2030 energy efficiency target five years early while also launching Ireland’s first airfield-based solar PV farm which can supply up to 20% of the facility’s electricity needs.
