A newly formed Community First Responder service is hoping to assist the National Ambulance Service in providing lifesaving support in communities across North Clare.
Emergency medical response charity CRITICAL has established its third Community First Responder service in the county, which is now operational in the Ruan, Dysart, Corofin, Barefield and Tubber areas.

Made up of 20 local volunteers, the team is trained to respond to cardiac arrests in the crucial minutes before an ambulance arrives.
Head of Operations & Standards with CRITICAL, Edward Walsh, says it will make a significant differnce to people living in these communities.
